Find out why Kvarner shrimps (scampi) are one of the most prized Mediterranean cuisine delicacies and visit this year's 2nd Kvarner Shrimp Festival in Rabac on May 27, 2017. At this gastro event caterers prepare dishes exclusively with shrimps from Kvarner Bay, caught by local fishermen, members of Alba Fisheries Local Action Group. Besides the shrimps, festival guests will be offered with local award-winning wines, and the festival will play host to live music entertainment.
This year, for the first time ever, we are presenting the festival of life in Rabac, which will bring top quality entertainment to the streets and squares all summer long! Rabac will be transformed into a huge open-air stage from June 8th to August 31st. A diverse programme, great music and urban beats, cinema and theatre, special events and concerts will enhance the summer experience and create unforgettable moments for all visitors.
The festival’s motto is the celebration of life, the beauty of life and the little moments that come with it - and what better time than summer to do exactly that?
The festival programme comprises four different categories: Street Performance, Street Music, Cinema and Theatre and Special Events.
Numerous street performances will take place during the festival so that everyone can find something they enjoy. Circus in the City on Mondays will turn the entire city into a giant open-air circus. The streets will be teeming with jugglers, stilt walkers, acrobats and fire-eaters and the entire event will culminate in a final performance on the walkway by the lighthouse below the Valamar Sanfior Hotel. Enter a magical world inhabited by famous cartoon characters every Sunday and dance with a “real“ prince or princess at the Princess Ball.
The Cinema & Theatre programme will undoubtedly please all cinephiles since it offers an array of different genres. The edutainment programme Istra InSpirit is scheduled for Saturdays and provides entertainment for the entire family by showcasing all the specific features of both Rabac and Labin, ranging from myths and legends to cuisine.
Don’t miss out on an unforgettable summer experience!
