Istria has been ranked among European destinations which must be visited for its food and wine, thus joining the company of the most famous gastronomic destinations in the world.
Fodor's has ranked Istria side by side with gastronomic destinations including Burgundy, Provance, Paris, Florence, the Loire river valley, Tuscany, the Amalfi coast, Lyon, Rome, Milan, the Champagne region, Madrid and Normandy. The Istrian Peninsula has been presented as a new enogastronomic star of Europe accompanied by the Austrian valley of the Danube.
