New York Times: 52 Places to Go
Istria on the list of the must see destinations
Good news travel fast, and the new acknowledgement to Istria arrives from New York. Peaceful green hills and the clear blue sea of the Istrian peninsula have been included on the list of 52 Places to Go in 2017.
It is a prestigious recognition for Istria by the New York Times, one of the leading world media, publishing for the 12th year in a row, immediately after the New Year celebrations, a list of selected world destinations.
Istrian subterranean treasure, the truffles, incredibly tasty sea food, fine wine, as well as wonderful monumental remains from the Roman era proudly standing and fighting against time, have had a key role and charmed once again their visitors. But for an exceptionally good impression we must thank the newly opened hotels Family Hotel Amarin in Rovinj, primarily family-oriented, Valamar Isabella on the small island of Sveti Nikola near Poreč, and Rivalmare boutique hotel in charming Novigrad.
Along with Istria, this year Croatia is represented on the list also by Dubrovnik, and they are standing side to side to the world renowned destinations, such as the Maldives, Madagascar, Great Barrier Reef, and the Californian Napa Valley, as well as some less known, like the South Korean city of Busan, Kazakhstan or the Japanese archipelago Ryukyu.
