Blaz and Budava cove

BLAZ COVE
In the Roman era, the cove of Blaz was an important harbor on the maritime route connecting Pula and Trsat (today part of Rijeka). Today, it is just another corner of unspoiled nature on Istria's coastline. Rumor has it, once there were five functioning watermills right by the sea, which is rather rare. Their remains are visible even today. People from remote parts of Istria used to come to the water spring to get fresh and high-quality water. Another legend has it that the crown of Tomislav, the 10th-century king of Croatia, is hidden somewhere in this cove.

BUDAVA COVE
Today a picturesque cove with pristine nature, Budava once was the harbor of the Histrian fort of Vizače and the Roman settlement of Nesactium. Because of its enchantingly beautiful nature, it was suggested to become a natural protected area.
