The Seget Homestead
The most monumental example of the country architecture in Istria is the Seget Homestead (stancija). It is located only a hundred meters from the road connecting Novigrad and Umag. The complex consists of three wings, with a clearly pronounced symmetry and the Baroque composition.
The central building of the Seget Estate dates to the 18th century, while its economic buildings are mainly from the 19th century. The representative Baroque-Historicist castle was owned by the Defranceschis, with a private chapel of St. Cecilia on the palace ground floor.
The steep road crossing regular plots of neighbouring vineyards runs down from the main residential and economic building.
