Labin Art Republic

Labin art republic is a project of reviving historical and cultural heritage of the medieval Istrian town of Labin.

In July and August the town of Labin transforms into an authentic little art republic. Its small theatre, the church, the old square, streets and the flight of stairs take the role of a stage. Various theatre groups and musicians perform on its ‘boards’.

Ateliers, galleries and collections are open for visitors. More than thirty academic painters work in the town. Do not miss the athmoshere of the town to which the Labin art republic gives a completely new visual identity.

This summer walk around the Old town and meet the local historical figures, such as the protestant church reformer Matthias Flacius Illyricus, a socialist Giuseppina Martinuzzi and a local mine worker.
