Cabernet Sauvignon was born almost 500 years ago in Bordeaux, France, after an accidental crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc and is today the most widespread grape variety in the world. It has been long present in Istria as well, for as many as 150 years, much like the tradition of fishing and preparing oily fish, the first written records of which date back to the 14th century.
