DOVAI - Open days of agritourisms in Istria
Istria’s turbulent history has left a striking mark on local gastronomy, culture and customs, and it is precisely the Open Days of Istrian agrotourism that present traditional Istrian cuisine through genuine experiences.
Harvests are completed, grain is stored, fruit and vegetables have found their place either pickled or in marmalade, and the preparation of sausages and pork loin is in full swing. Family farms have worked diligently throughout the year, and in November they open their doors to visitors and offer Istrian specialities at promotional prices.
Agritourism farms included in the event offer menus based on ingredients of their own production in combination with various experiences such as visits to animals on the farm, folklore performances, live music presenting their own products together with those from local family farms.
Visitors can round off the entire experience by visiting the cycling and hiking trails, enjoying the scenery, then tasting the local delicacies and trying various additional activities, and perhaps even a balun, a traditional Istrian dance.
Book your appointment in time to experience this Istrian gastronomic story prepared with love by agritourism farms.

Open days of agritourisms in Istria are organized by AZRRI - Agency for Rural Development of Istria in cooperation with Istrian agritourisms with a goal to promote rural households along with Istrian gastronomy as a trademark of rural areas. And, in that way surpass regional significance and become an internationally interesting destination.
With the revival and expansion of traditional food and products, the offer is slowly returning to the countryside, to the flora and fauna of villages and hospitable rural household owners, much to the delight of the fans of good taste.
Surrender to the charms of agritourism farms, the guardians of gastronomic tradition...
