Exhibition: Jasenka Korlević - Inner Journey
Solo Exhibition
We open the exhibition season at the Small Gallery with a solo exhibition of paintings by Jasenka Korlević titled Inner Journey. Korlević won this exhibition as a prize for the best-rated works selected by the jury at the 16th Profutura.
Korlević writes about her works: "Through a concrete, real, external motif, I come into contact with myself, expressing my inner world, the world of emotions, as I also professionally engage with the inner, emotional world of individuals. Emotions and their understanding, facing oneself, especially one's own vulnerabilities, are prerequisites for connecting with oneself, and then with others in a deeper, more complete, authentic way.
The motifs I often use in my artworks are nature, olive trees, quarries, salt pans, the sea, oxen, bulls, goats, birds... which I then artistically explore, express, and interpret depending on my emotional state."

Biography
Jasenka Korlević, 49 years old, married, mother of three daughters, holds a master's degree in economics, is an advisory therapist, psychodrama psychotherapist, holder of the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP), and a certified trainer in the field of TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises). In her practice for counseling and psychotherapy, she works with individuals, couples, and groups facing relationship problems, communication issues, parenting challenges; she works with individuals dealing with anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, PTSD, life crises, and losses. For the past ten years, she has specialized in working with alcohol addiction at the Club of Treated Alcoholics in Poreč. She is a member of the Croatian Chamber of Psychotherapists (HKPT), the Center for Psychodrama Zagreb, and the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP). In her free time, she engages in painting, practices Pilates, and enjoys walking.
She has won several awards at ex-tempore events and has participated in numerous group exhibitions of painters throughout Istria. She has held several solo exhibitions. She is a member of the Poreč Art Association and the Agata Novigrad Art Association. She lives, works, and creates in Poreč.
