Sete Sois Sete Luas Festival

In July Rovinj will host the Mediterranean Folk Music Festival Sete Sòis Sete Luas (Seven Suns, Seven Moons). The festival has its official seat in Lisbon (Portugal) and Pontedera (Italy). It is promoted by the Culture Network in 30 cities, in 10 different countries of the Mediterranean and Portuguese-speaking countries: Brazil, Cabo Verde, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and in the past several years, in Croatia and Rovinj. The festival is a project of folk music, street theatre performances and visual arts, gathering prominent artists of the Mediterranean culture.

21:30 - LUSO 7LUAS BAND (Brazil, Cape Verde, France, Italy, Reunion, Portugal)

"LUSO 7LUAS BAND" was created in 2024 as part of the Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival and brings together prestigious musicians: from Brazil Edu Miranda on mandolin, from Portugal Tiago Soares on percussion, from Italy Elena Floris on violin, from Cape Verde Edvaldo Silva Soares 'Toti' on cavaquinho, from France Michel Prandi on bass, from Reunion Island Joel Manglou on vocals and guitar. Working side by side for a week in an artistic residency, the six artists developed an original repertoire inspired by the multicultural values ​​of the Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival, in accordance with the artistic sensibilities and musical traditions of each artist.

21:00 - LA RÉUNION KREOL 7S7L BAND (Reunion)

Music is an integral part of the soul of Reunion and draws inspiration from the different cultures of the Indian Ocean. The island of Reunion vibrates to the rhythm of sége or maloye, two of the main musical genres of the island that will arrive in Europe in the summer of 2025 with this new musical project led by the famous singer and trumpeter Bernard Joron, leader of the group Ousanousava, the most famous on the island and very well known abroad. Other performers, all from Reunion, are singer Gwendoline Absalon, singer and guitarist Kafmaron, percussionist Harry Perigone and pianist Teddy Doris.

22:30 - GUSTAFI (Istria, Croatia)

The band is known for its electric style that combines Istrian folk music and rock, with blues influences. The band was founded in 1990 in Vodnjan, a small Istrian town, and is one of the most significant examples of the so-called ČA-val (Cha Wave), a type of pop-rock music accompanied by lyrics sung in the Chakavian dialect of Istria, thanks to which the band became very popular in Croatia in the mid-1990s.
