The famous American travel magazine, Travel+Leisure has published a list of the 17 best little towns in Europe, with Rovinj being among those selected too. The article, written by journalist Anne Olivia Bauso, points out that charming little European towns are adorned with amazing landscapes, delicious food and so much more. She adds that for every Paris, Rome and London there are a hundred small European cities that capture the spirit of their nation; from a tiny Icelandic suburb surrounded by amazing landscapes to an ancient seaside resort on the Black Sea, and advises readers to add another 17 places in Europe to their wish list.

She describes Rovinj as a small town whose facades are painted in bright colours and whose streets are distorted, with a baroque church on the hill. And all this just squeezed onto a small peninsula that makes up the ancient fishing port of Rovinj - the flagship of the Istrian part of the Croatian coast.

The article also mentions freshly caught pilchard from the Adriatic, famous local truffles, wine produced from indigenous Istrian grapes, as well as the fact that it is worth visiting the Stancija Collis family farm, and taste their delicious Malvasia, olive oil and goat’s cheese. The description ends with a proposal to visit the National Park, which stretches across the Brijuni Islands and is an excellent idea for a day trip by boat from nearby Fažana.
