Istria showcases its gastronomic delicacies at fantastic gala dinner in Hamburg
The “WINE Awards” ceremony organised by the leading German gourmet magazine Der FEINSCHMECKER has been the crowning social event of the German gastronomic scene for the last 49 years. At this year’s edition of this spectacular event hosting excellent chefs and outstanding wineries, Istria has had the opportunity to showcase its gastronomic delicacies by presenting truffles, extra-virgin olive oils and wines.
More than 500 distinguished guests have attended the sold-out Feinschmecker gala event. The tickets, which cost 379 euro, were sold-out weeks in advance, and offered the guests a magnificent culinary and wine experience.
Der Feinschmecker Wine Awards 2024 was held on Saturday November 9th, while the five-star Hamburg hotel Grand Elysée provided the exclusive setting for this amazing combination of art, culture and cuisine. With the banquet hall filled with exquisite jazz music, the leading German gourmet magazine Der FEINSCHMECKER has honoured the best winemakers and wineries of the year. Among this year’s six recipients of the “Wine Oscar” are legendary Willi Bründlmayer Bründlmayer winery and Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon from the renowned Roederer champagne house.
Additionally, famous world-class chefs, with more than 10 Michelin stars, have showcased extraordinary dishes at specific gastronomic points. Denis Ivošević, the director of the Istria Tourist Board, along with Wolfgang Neuhuber and Stephanie Gastager from the partner agency ART RedaktionsTeam, have presented Istria very successfully and in an impressive way.
Representing Istria with his truffle dish was none other than television culinary celebrity Johann Laffer. A real craze ensued for Lafer’s Istrian dish, with 600 portions being snapped up in an instant. Along with the award-winning wines, Istrian wines Kozlović and Veralda were showcased at the gala event, as the only wines served during the evening, while Chiavalon olive oils offered the guests another gastronomic sensation.
The presentation in Hamburg was an exceptional opportunity for Istria to showcase its exclusive gourmet products and the high-quality offer that awaits visitors to our peninsula.
