Hiking trail: Korita

Korita, a fresh water spring, is a 45-minute hike away from the village of Brgudac.
The trail to Korita leads through a dense forest of hornbeam and oak with the occasional spruce tree. This is the habitat of numerous species of protected plants and animals.

It’s situated on a meadow beneath a cliff called Brajkove Stijene, this fresh water spring pours into ten massive wooden riverbeds which lower part is rich with plant and animal life. This construction has had an important function to provide the water supplies for people and animals, which is why this place has had a great importance for the life of the local population.

By water spring is situated the place to rest which offers a breathtaking view of the mountain range Učka. The instruction boards have been set to inform about the cultural and natural significance of this place.
