Monte Rosso

Umag-Umago

Details:

Present again in the Flos Olei Guide (2024) with a result confirming its position, Monte Rosso was founded in 2006 by Davor Dubokovič in the favourable district of Savudrija. The estate covers 65 hectares, 40 of which are destined to the specialized olive grove with 14,000, not entirely productive, trees.

The Flos Olei Guide recommends the selection proposed to the Flos Olei panel, the very good Extra Virgin Monte Rosso Grand Selection, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with warm green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in vegetal hints of artichoke and wild chicory, together with fresh fragrant notes of mint and rosemary. Its taste is exuberant and robust, with a flavour of lettuce and a final note of cinnamon, black pepper and almond. Bitterness is powerful and pungency is distinct and well balanced.
