Uljara Vodnjan

Vodnjan-Dignano

Details:

It confirms its important position in the Flos Olei Guide (2024), proposing, as always, a convincing product to the Flos Olei panel. Uljara Vodnjan is a wine and oil farm founded in the mid-50s. Today it is run by Kristijan Floričić, who manages 44 hectares of olive grove with 12,000 trees within a larger estate. In the last harvest 2,300 quintals of olives were produced, which, once crushed in the modern oil mill, yielded 340 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil.

The Flos Olei Guide recommends the very good Extra Virgin selection Punta Cissana, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in fruity hints of medium ripe tomato, white apple and banana, together with aromatic notes of basil, mint and parsley. Its taste is exuberant and strong, with a vegetal flavour of country lettuce and celery. Bitterness is powerful and pungency is distinct and well-balanced.
