San Rocco

Brtonigla-Verteneglio

Details:

San Rocco - Primizia is situated in Brtonigla, a charming village in the northern part of Istria. This solid farm, also including a comfortable charming hotel and an excellent restaurant, is run by Tullio Fernetich. The olive grove covers 5 hectares with 1,100 trees. In the last harvest 180 quintals of olives were produced, with a yield of 18 hectolitres of oil.

There are two Extra Virgin San Rocco, Selection Blend and the Monocultivar Buža. Buža, chosen by the Flos Olei panel, has an intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues. Its aroma is ample and rotund, endowed with fruity hints of medium ripe tomato, banana and white apple, together with fragrant notes of basil, mint and parsley. Its taste is exuberant and strong, with a vegetal flavour of broad beans and chicory, lettuce and celery. Bitterness is definite and pungency is distinct and harmonic.
