Kabola
Buje-Buie
The tradition of winemaking and viticulture is over one hundred and thirty years old in the Markežić family, from the time when the story of the most important grape variety of this region - the Momjan muscat - begins. For many years, Marino Markežić was involved in catering in Kremenje, a small village located between Buje and Momjan, where people came in pilgrimages to eat truffles. In 2004, Marino started the Kabola winery, focusing primarily on winemaking and viticulture. He opened one of the most modern wine cellars in the entire region, which is irresistibly reminiscent of Tuscan tenute. Today, the Kabola winery is one of the most important Istrian wine brands, present on the market with twelve wine labels divided into several categories. It starts with a classic sparkling wine produced from Istrian malvasia over a fresh line dominated by fresh Istrian malvasia and Rosé. Momjan muscat is available in three versions - dry, semi-dry and sweet. The pride of the winery are its aged wines, among which Istrian malvasia and Teran aged in Georgian amphorae buried in the ground above the winery should be highlighted.
